Information
Wine has featured prominently in this family since the 14th century and a passion for Grenache, king of grapes in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, has been passed on down the generations. The present-day property covers some 15 hectares, primarily in the north, north-eastern part of this illustrious appellation. Every step is taken to allow the vines to express their potential as nature intended. This means natural fertilisers, manual harvests and only the very best grape clusters. The vinification process is slow and low-intervention. Julien Barrot and his eldest sister Laetitia currently run the business. The wines have great finesse and are delightfully fruity.
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape has benefited from vinification in underground concrete vats. The berries were destemmed before macerating for a long time and being subject to gentle extraction. Aged in old foudres for a year and a half, this wine is not filtered during bottling. Leave this cuvée a few years in the cellar to appreciate its beautiful aromatic palette and texture that will pair perfectly with meat dishes.
