Information
Yannick Amirault took over a few of his grandfather's vines in the 1970s, including the legendary terroir of Les Malgagnes. He developed the vineyard, choosing to expand over the years through choices that reflect the respect inherent to his wine-making methods and vinification.
Situated around the village of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgeuil, the vines that constitute this wine have an average age of 30 years and are grown on gravelly, sandy soil. The harvest is completed by hand in crates with a double sorting and destemming process. Fermentation occurs in open vats in order to allow for gentle maceration (3-4 weeks). The wine is then matured in oak barrels for 7-10 months and is therefore not too marked by the wood. Presented here is an ample, fruity and well-rounded wine.
