Information
Domaine de la Citadelle started out life as a farm at the foot of the village of Ménerbes. At the beginning of the 1990s, Yves Rousset-Rouard created this domaine. From 1995, his son joined him in the vineyard and took on a titanic job, choosing only the best parcels. It is therefore not surprising that this domaine is now regarded as one of the finest names of its appellation. Today, the vines span 39 hectares on limestone and clay rich soil. Fertilisers and pesticides are forbidden, and yields are low to allow the grapes that blossom express their full potential. In the winery, vinifications take place in temperature regulated stainless steel vats and the grapes are pressed gently. Finesse and freshness are the hallmark of this domaine that is in constant progress. A domaine to watch.
Produced organically, this Côtes-du-luberon is a blend of Rhône grape varieties vinified in thermo-regulated vats with regular punch-down and pump-over. These make it possible to extract a maximum of colour and substance. When drinking, we discover a beautiful ruby hue with an expressive bouquet, rich in aromas of red fruit and peppery notes. The tannins are silky and carry the aromas towards a slightly woody finish.
