Information
Jacques Seysses created Domaine Dujac in 1968 by purchasing 4.5 hectares. He is also associated with Aubert de Villaine in the Var (Triennes). Today Jacques's children are the directors of the Domaine Dujac, Jeremy, his wife Diana (an American enologist) and Alec Seysses. The domaine, certified in organic farming, extends over 15 hectares in the largest terroirs of the Côte de Nuits and especially Morey-Saint-Denis. The domaine's wines have excellent aging potential and are characterised by great complexity and delicacy.
Bordering on the Grands-Echézeaux Grand Cru, which separates it from the Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux is a hillside-based 30-hectare Grand Cru. Less prestigious than its elder sibling, Domaine Dujac's Echézeaux is nonetheless just as sought after by the shrewdest connoisseurs. It has great concentration, but in a supple register. As is often the case with Domaine Dujac, whole-bunch harvesting lends the wine extremely great complexity.
