Information
The Faiveley family has been running this domain since 1825. In 2005 Erwan Faiveley succeeded his father in the management of the property which is one of the largest ones in Burgundy: 10 hectares of Grands Crus and nearly 25 hectares of Premier Crus, including several climates where it is the sole owner (Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Clos des Issarts, Beaune Premier Cru Clos de l'Ecu and Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru). The vineyards remain very fragmented with an average size of 1 hectare in each appellation. In general, the wines of the domain are dense and fruity. The estate was the first in Burgundy to convert 120 hectares of vines to sustainable agriculture, having obtained the HVE (High Environmental Value)) certificate. Its conversion to organic practices started in 2022 and 2025 will be the first vintage to be certified organic.
The domaine's Musigny comes from a microscopic plot of 3.38 acres, planted with vines whose average age in 2005 was 60 years. This is one of of Burgundy's most sought-after grand crus. And rightly so: its exceptional soil produces one of the finest Burgundy wines in the Côte de Nuits. A legend of a wine, for drinking after 8-20 years' aging.
