Information
The origins of Château Maucamps date back to the 18th century, when it was the home of the Lalanne family. The property was acquired by the Tessandier family in 1954, at which time it had 75 hectares of land, 19 of which were planted with vines. The vineyard lies on hill consisting of Garonne gravel on a clay subsoil, and is planted with classic Bordeaux varieties.
Vinification is carried out according to traditional Médoc methods, with the wines being aged in 25 to 40% new barrels for 16 months. The wines have received much critical acclaim and are frequently mentioned in the national and international press. Château Maucamps is a Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois Supérieur.
