Information
Jacques Seysses created Domaine Dujac in 1968 by purchasing 4.5 hectares. He is also associated with Aubert de Villaine in the Var (Triennes). Today Jacques's children are the directors of the Domaine Dujac, Jeremy, his wife Diana (an American enologist) and Alec Seysses. The domaine, certified in organic farming, extends over 15 hectares in the largest terroirs of the Côte de Nuits and especially Morey-Saint-Denis. The domaine's wines have excellent aging potential and are characterised by great complexity and delicacy.
Bonnes-Mares is one of the two grand crus from the commune of Chambolle, along with the fêted Musigny. Yet while the Musigny has a seductive refinement, Bonnes-Mares is more about impressive substance and opulence. Domaine Dujac's Bonnes-Mares is a textbook example of its kind, with imposing substance. It is a wine of immense complexity and an amazingly long finish. A benchmark.
