La Mauriane
Information
About the producer

La Mauriane is not a domain in its own right but a selection of parcels from Château Rigaud. Pierre Taix manages this estate; he is the last generation of the family who has always owned this Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion domain. The parcel spans four hectares and is farmed organically (with certification).

About the wine

To make this wine, yields are kept very low to ensure that the Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines can reach optimum concentration. The grapes are harvested by hand and totally destemmed before undergoing a temperature controlled vinification. The wine is then raised in new oak barriques. Powerful and tannic, this cuvée impresses with its opulence and is built to last. Pair with characterful dishes.
