Information
The Valle del Maipo is located at the foot of the Andes mountains, a stone's throw from Santiago. The Domaine Paul Bruno territory combines poor quality, sloped and well-drained soil with a very sunny micro-climate characterised by intense variation between day and night temperatures. This wine expresses all the originality of the land it comes from, rich in complex flavours where discreet woody notes are intertwined with hints of ripe fruit. Powerful on the palate, it remains supple with a silky-smooth finish. Bruno Prats and Paul Pontallier, well-known wine experts from Bordeaux, decided to join forces to create a wine estate in Chile, Vina Aquitana - the Domaine Paul Bruno. They involved their Chilean friend Felipe de Solminihac in the project, too. In 1990, they purchased 18 hectares of land in the "Quebrada de Macul", at the foot of the Andes mountains and at the gateway to Santiago. They planted Bordeaux grape varieties: 15 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, 2 hectares of Merlot and one of Carmenère. In 2003, Ghislain de Montgolfier joined the team.
This wine expresses all of the originality of its terroir, rich with complex aromas; the subtle oakyness combines with notes of ripe fruits. While powerful, it is supples with a silky finish.
