Information
Château Croix de Labrie's vineyard was originally only 0.5 hectares, from 1991 to 1998. The 2000 vintage of 5,000 bottles was made with 2.3 hectares. The vines have an average age of 40 years and grow in ancient gravel soil. Manual harvests are followed by 19 to 24 months ageing in 100% new barrels made from Seguin-Moreau mature forest wood (guaranteed to be at least 250 years-old) in a cellar that was constructed for the 2000 vintage just next to the fortified farm where the owners live (barrels of previous vintages were matured in their living room!).
