Information
Torabhaig was founded on the Isle of Skye by Sir Iain Noble, an ardent champion of the Gaelic language. In 1976, he founded Praban na Linne (Gaelic Whisky Co) also on the Isle of Skye. The company produces three whiskies, all with Gaelic names: the blended malt Poit Dubh and the blended Scotches Te Bheag and Mac Na Mara. In 2002, he was granted permission to turn a 19th century farm into a distillery in Torabhaig. Sadly he passed away before the project could be completed. At the time of his passing, Mossburn Distillers was looking for a site to build a distillery on Skye and eventually decided to resume the originally project in 2010. Work began in 2013 and finished four years later. Torabhaig produces a whisky peated to 50 ppm.
The first edition released by the Toranhaig distillery. This whisky was distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2021 for The Legacy Series range.
