About the producer

The Ragnaud family began producing cognac in 1860 with a few vines in Grande Champagne planted with Folle Blanche and Ugni Blanc. Raymond Ragnaud create the brand of the same name in 1941 and began bottling the cognacs produced by his ancestors, starting with his father Paul Ragnaud. The estate, which is today managed by Françoise Ragnaud-Bricq, was gradually expanded and today counts 47 hectares spread across the three properties of Ambleville, Criteuil La Madeleine and Lignères-Sonneville.

About the wine

Ragnaud Sabourin VSOP No.10 is a cognac aged in oak casks for ten years, which is much longer than the minimum four years required for the VSOP appellation. It is made from Ugni Blanc grapes, which are generally favoured by producers in Cognac and represent 98% of all grapes grown there. Ugni Blanc is very resistant to disease and produces acidic, low-alcohol wines that are ideal for distillation.
