Burgundy | 2005 vintage
The only dilemma is whether 2005 vintage is be great or decidedly exceptional? ¿A year of perfect weather conditions ¿ an almost rain-free summer, with optimal sunshine and cool nights, followed by a generally warm and sunny September ¿ for a splendid vintage, equal to 1985, 1990 and 1999. Despite a few random hail storms during the year, the sanitary quality of the grapes was perfect. The harvest volume was slightly less than the previous year (-3.5%). The reds have a very good balance of acidity and tannins. They have classical but appealing aromas of small red fruits and a potentially outstanding substance. The white wines are already very pleasant and have signs of becoming, very well-balanced, lovely rich wines with a particularly complex aromatic palette. The future seems bright, even though the inaugural dilemma has yet to be answered.¿
