Bordeaux | 1997 vintage
A reasonable vintage with an irregular quality due to changeable weather conditions. 1997 had record weather conditions: a very mild winter followed by an extremely rainy spring and tropical August. The harvest started as early as 15th August, making this vintage the earliest since 1893. The wines are mainly tender, fruity and balanced but with a limited cellaring capacity. The dry white wines are aromatic but not particularly complex. However, the sweet wines are particularly good with rich and ample wines and a long cellaring capacity.
