Bordeaux | 1987 vintage
A reasonable vintage. Despite a scorching summer, the vintage was difficult due to torrential rainfall during the harvest. The châteaux rigorously selected the grapes and produced elegant, ripe and deliciously fruity wines. The grapes were harvested at full maturity and, contrary to other problematic vintages, produced extremely supple and distinctive wines. The dry white wines are supple and pleasant. The sweet wines are fruity but have a limited cellaring capacity.
