Bordeaux | 1975 vintage
An extraordinary vintage for Bordeaux. Despite some violent storms during August and September, the harvest was very good with perfectly ripe grapes. Rich, strong and extremely tannic, these wines have a good cellaring capacity. Today, there are huge differences in quality between the crus, some are austere and closed, while others are rich and deep. The Pomerols, and to a lesser extent the Saint Emilions, appear to be more harmonious than the Médoc wines. There are also some exceptional Graves, such as la Mission Haut-Brion and Haut-Brion. Autumn proved to be favourable for Sauternes. The wines are remarkably balanced and fine.
