Bordeaux | 1969 vintage
A difficult vintage. After a hot summer, torrential rains poured down on the vineyards in September, quashing any hopes of a great vintage. The grapes, full of water, produced washed-out wines, thin and austere. Due to a speculative frenzy, the price for this vintage's wines was relatively high in comparison to its quality. There were a certain amount of good sweet wines, like the Château d'Arche, despite the bad weather conditions.
