Bordeaux | 1961 vintage
One of the greatest post-war vintages. This extraordinary vintage is unusual in that it produced a minute harvest of exceptional quality. After spring frosts that reduced the bunches of grapes by half, the grapes, picked during a particularly warm and sunny period, were perfectly ripe and highly concentrated. The majority of the wines are rich, intense and wonderfully fruity. However, the excessively dry weather reduced the Sauternes harvest. The wines are ample and fruity but have a limited cellaring capacity.
