Bordeaux | 1928 vintage
A very hot and sunny summer through to the harvest which produced a great and classical vintage. The red wines are a model of concentration and generosity. The wines are mostly robust, very well-structured and highly concentrated, but more astringent and severe than those of 1929. However, cellaring has mostly erased these differences. Léoville Las Cases, Palmer and Haut-Bailly were noted for their elegance and amplitude. The long fermentation and the richness of the must produced some truly great Sauternes, beautifully unctuous and very full.
