Alsace | 1997 vintage
A reasonable vintage, despite the changeable weather. April frosts, deplorable conditions in June and July, a scorching August marked with hail, and the highest temperatures on record in September produced watery wines. The best wine producers, highly selective, managed to produce elegant, fine wines. Mostly all the wines from this vintage mature quickly.
