Whistlepig

Whistlepig was founded in Vermont in 2007 by Raj Peter Bhakta, with Dave Pickerell, formerly of Maker’s Mark, as its master distiller. After bottling rye produced by other distilleries while they set up their own equipment, they eventually launched their own production in 2015. The distillery became known for its whiskeys produced only from rye and finished in original cask types. The first bottlings were released in 2017 and Bhakta retired the same year, selling his shares to BDT Partners two years later.
