Suertes del Marqués

We selected this Spanish estate for its vibrant wines which best represent the Canary Islands’ terroir, beautifully expressed through Listán Negro and Blanco, two native grape varieties.

The Suertes del Marqués estate, founded in 2006 by Jonatan Garcia Lima and Roberto Santana, lies in the heart of the Canary Islands, on the island of Tenerife. The nine hectares of vines stretch across the north of the island on volcanic soils at altitudes ranging from 400 to 700 metres. Here, winemakers grow Castellana, Tintilla, Baboso Negro and Albillo, varieties widely planted on the island. Work in the vineyard is meticulous, and manual labour is favoured over mechanical equipment. Each parcel, with its cordon trellising network, is tended individually to allow its unique character to shine through. The hand-harvested grapes undergo a low-intervention vinification process, preserving the identity of the wines and the region’s rich viticultural heritage. The Suertes del Marqués wines are iconic for their purity and aromatic richness, as much as for the beauty of their terroir.
