Wine for sale: Lise et Bertrand Jousset
Lise et Bertrand Jousset
For this allocation of the week, we have the pleasure of introducing the wines from Domaine Lise et Bertrand Jousset from Montlouis-sur-Loire for the first time! A domain that we’ve all fallen for with its organic and almost natural wines that are totally delicious. Flavoursome, generous, complex and precise, they are just waiting to delight wine lovers.
Domaine Lise et Bertrand Jousset was founded in Montlouis-sur-Loire in 2004. The vineyard, which spans around 8 hectares of vines aged between 5 and 100 years, is grown organically, largely following biodynamic principles. On certain parcels, machines are banned, with work carried out only by hand or with horses. The harvests are also carried out by hand. In the winery, the processes are very natural with little intervention, with a pressing that is slow and gentle. No additives are used aside from very small doses of sulphur. Vinification takes place in barrels of 225, 400 and 600 litres with a maximum of 10% new wood in order to avoid marking the wine. The iDealwine has found a particular favourite in the wines of Lise and Bertrand Jousset, their cuvées being frank, flavoursome, elegant and precise. Some truly fine Loire Chenins!

WHAT THE EXPERTS SAY...
LA REVUE DU VIN DE FRANCE
“Here is an example of how dynamic Montlouis can be. This domain was taken up by a couple who followed what has become a classic path for new arrivals in this region, in which one of the two has a job outside the domain while the other gets the business and the vineyard going. The first vintage here came in 2004, and gradually the old vines from massal selection are coming into their own.”
