Kefraya

‘A terroir, a soul, a fine wine’ are the words of Michel de Bustros, to whom we owe the creation of this magnificent Lebanese wine estate. A must-try for wine lovers in search of something new.

Château Kefraya is one of the most highly regarded Lebanese wines. This vineyard owes its reputation to Michel de Bustros, who built the château in 1946, planted the vines in 1951, and ran the domaine until his death in 2016. The domaine began to produce its own wine in 1979 (at the height of the Lebanese War). Château Kefraya wines quickly established an international reputation and in 1997, the Wine Advocate awarded a rating of 91/100 to ‘'Comte de M 1996”. Robert Parker's article was entitled "An amazing accomplishment in Lebanon". The vineyard is located on the Bekaa plain at the foot of Mount Barouk, on terraced hillsides at over 1,000 metres above sea level. It spans almost 300 hectares and yields are limited. It is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay, Viognier Carménère, Marselan and Muscat à petits grains. It is managed according to environmentally friendly principles and single parcel vinifications. Fabrice Guiberteau has been the domaine's technical director for ten years. The château's wine range is comprehensive, with an emphasis on high quality.
