More info

Guillaume Charavin founded the Charvin family estate in 1851. While phylloxera decimated the vineyard at the end of the 19th century, his son and grandson were able to restore it. Today, backed by age-old expertise, the estate proudly produces an outstanding Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The wine is a blend of four of the thirteen grape varieties authorised by the specifications for this ancient appellation. These include Grenache, which accounts for around 80% of the blend, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Vaccarèse, sourced from vines that are an average of 40 years old. Harvesting by hand is an integral part of the estate’s approach, and vinification is conducted in concrete vats, inert containers which preserve the identity of the grapes and the terroir. Lastly, the wine is aged in casks for around twenty months. Upon tasting, the wine reveals a vibrant purple colour with purplish tints. The fragrant bouquet of ripe black fruit and spices together with the harmonious palate and persistent finish produce a wine of exceptional elegance.
