Cahors Clos Triguedina Jean-Luc Baldès 1982
The wine
Clos Triguedina comes from the Occitan “me trigo de dina”, meaning “I’m looking forward to dinner”, in reference to the Santiago de Compostela pilgrims who often ate at domains. Produced using Malbec (85%), Merlot (13%), and Tannat (2%), this cuvée is perfectly balanced. The nose has intense aromas of black fruits, pepper and liquorice, and the tannins are offset by the wine’s truly silken texture. Best drunk alongside red meat in sauces and game.
About the Producer Clos Triguedina
étienne Baldès planted his first Cahors parcels in 1830. Six generations later, Jean Luc Baldès has masterfully raised the family domaine to the top level of the Cahors appellation, constantly introducing innovative production techniques. Located to the south of Cahors, near Puy l'Evêque, the domaine is nestled between the meandering river Lot and spreads over 70 hectares. Its clay-limestone soil, similar to Pomerol's soil composition, is perfect for producing great vintages.
