Lot presentation
Château Bel Air La Royere 1998
The wine
After ageing for 18 months in barrels, the wine develops delicious aromas of red fruit with notes of toast and liquorice. This ageing results in a very accessible wine. The overall impression is of good balance and a long finish.
About the Producer Château Bel Air La Royere
Located in the commune of Cars, on clay-limestone slopes, Château Bel-Air is one of the Côtes de Blaye's finest properties.
Xavier Loriaud bought the vineyard in 1995 and has managed to give the wines a highly individual style by including nearly 30% Malbec in the blend. Planted with Merlot on the property's 13 hectares, the Malbec produces wines with a particular character.
