Château Pedesclaux 5ème Grand Cru Classé 1982
The wine
Pédéclaux develops a nose of dark fruit with a hint of woodiness on the full palate. Tannins are velvety. Overall, the impression is of a generous, harmonious wine.
About the Producer Château Pedesclaux
Pierre-Urbain Pédesclaux established this Médoc property in 1810. The château was then renowned in the entire Bordeaux region. It was consecrated as fifth grand cru in 1855. But the château spent most of the 20th century in complete anonymity. It was not until 2009, when the estate was purchased by Jacky Lorenzetti, founder of Foncia, who also owns 50% of the Issan estate, that the prestigious history of Pédesclaux was resurrected. After an overhaul of all the facilities and a winery designed by the architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the château is producing fine and elegant wines. A Pauillac to be watched closely
