Lot presentation

Meursault 1er Cru Caillerets Coche Dury (Domaine) 2004

The wine

The Caillerets Meursault Premier Cru has intense aromas of honey and lime flower blended with the hazelnut notes Coche Dury is so renowned for. The palate is rounded and silky with a very impressive persistence that leaves an impression of plum and gingerbread. A truly out of the ordinary wine.

About the Producer Coche-Dury

Jean-François Coche-Dury is one of the world's leading figures for the vinification of white wines. In 1972 he took over the domain from his father who built it up in the early 1920's. Over the years he acquired new wine parcels. His domain, which today covers just over 10 hectares, counts 8.5 hectares of Chardonnay and Aligoté. He uses a vinification that reinforces the natural expression of the terroir without changing it: gentle pressing, regular stirring of lees in oak barrels, 50% of which are replaced every year. His style is inimitable; he creates pure and elegant wine whose finesse and persistency are quite remarkable. His wines are renowned and sought after by connoisseurs throughout the world. All Chardonnay amateurs must taste these wines.
