Montlouis-sur-Loire Clos de la Frelonnerie 2021
The wine
Chenin Blanc, a native of Anjou, is thought to have been cultivated as early as the 6th century by the monks of the Abbey of Saint-Maur, located between Angers and Saumur. This naturally fertile grape variety thrives at the heart of the prestigious Loire Valley terroir. Located a short distance from Tours, the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation nestles on a limestone plateau, between the Loire and Cher valleys to the north and south. Le Clos de la Frelonnerie nurtures its parcels of Chenin Blanc with great care, to produce an authentic, flavoursome terroir wine. The harvested grapes are carefully sorted and vinified using traditional methods.
The golden-yellow colour reveals a delightful bouquet, with scents of young pears mingling with subtle woody notes. The full, delicious palate reveals aromas of young white fruit and citrus blossom, leading to a lively, fresh and really tasty finish.
