Jean Grosperrin 1958 Of. Fût R.W 94 144 Lot n°2 Cognac de Collection
The wine
A Petite Champagne cognac distilled in 1958 and bottled by Grosperrin. Bottled from a single 340-litre cask, it was sourced from a merchant who had submitted it as a bank deposit at a state-accredited cognac store. Vintage cognacs are rare due to the strict traceability criteria required by customs.
About the Producer Jean Grosperrin
Maison Grosperrin was founded by Jean Grosperrin, a distiller since 1981 who moved to Cognac in 1991. The following year, he became a broker, which enabled him to visit a huge number of estates in search of the finest casks. Tired of seeing these end up in blends, he began bottling his own in 1999, providing details on their history, aged and, wherever possible, their vintage. In 2004, after Jean retired, his son Guilhelm took over the business, increasing its stocks and taking charge of selections and all or part of maturation himself.
