Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru La Perrière Harmand-Geoffroy (Domaine) 2002
The wine
Gevrey La Perrière is élevaged for between 12 and 16 months in oak barrels (50% new wood). This wine is distinguished by its generous morello cherry aromas and floral notes, along with the silky substance provided courtesy of some very refined tannins, and its beautiful finish. This wine is a good accompaniment for red meat and pork.
About the Producer Harmand-Geoffroy
Gérard Harmand now runs the Harmand-Geoffroy family domaine, whose creation dates back to the 19th century. The vineyard covers a little less than 10 hectares in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, with a majority of premier crus and a grand cru, the Mazis-Chambertin. The vines are relatively old (about fifty years) and the cultivation is conducted in a sustainable manner. The quality of the wines has progressed well in recent years, they are harmonious, with body and intense fruity aromas.
