Marnier Lapostolle Of. V.S.O.P. (no reserve)
The wine
A magnum of Marnier Lapostolle cognac. We estimate this bottle to be from the 1990s. Although Marnier is best known for its bitter orange liqueur, the company also produces high-quality cognacs, including those found in its famous liqueur. This VSOP is made with cognac aged in oak casks for at least four years.
About the Producer Marnier
Marnier is owned by the Marnier Lapostole group, born from the marriage in 1876 of Louis-Alexandre Marnier and the granddaughter of Jean-Baptiste Lapostole, a liqueur producer who had opened a distillery in Beauphle-le-Château in 1827. A few years later, in 1890, Louis-Alexandre invented a cognac and bitter orange and cognac liqueur renamed Grand Marnier by the famous hotel-owner César Ritz, having first being released as Curaçao Marnier. The liqueur quickly became a hit and left a lasting impression on consumers. In 2016, the brand was bought by the Campari group.
