Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Rapet Père & Fils 1989
The wine
Corton-Charlemagne Domaine Rapet Père et Fils is an assemblage of young and old vines, élevaged in barrels (50% new) for about 12 months. The result is a full-bodied, highly aromatic wine (white-fleshed fruit, honey, toasted almonds and mineral notes). A truly great white wine which opens up after 10 years in the cellar, keep to one side to drink with fine delicacies such as lobster.
About the Producer Rapet Père & Fils
Domaine Rapet Père et Fils, is a very old family domaine in Pernand-Vergelesses (confirmed by an engraved 1765 tastevin). The vineyard extends over 20 hectares, spread between Pernand-Vergelesses, Savigny-les-Beaune, Chorey-les-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton and Beaune. It is managed in a sustainable and responsible manner to minimise phytosanitary treatments. The wines are of a modern style and express the typical nature of their terroir well; they are all the more interesting as prices remain reasonable.
