Bourgueil Les Quartiers Yannick Amirault (Domaine) 2002
The wine
The Bourgueil Les Quartiers made by Yannick Amirault is produced on a plot of 45-year-old vines planted in east-facing chalk soil known as the "La Terre à Blanc" ['White Earth']. Its nose features roasted elements underpinned by Morello cherry, and the wine is incredibly distinguished, featuring wonderful balance and great finesse with well-defined acidity that hint at long years of ageing to come.
About the Producer Yannick Amirault
Yannick Amirault took over a few of his grandfather's vines in the 1970s, including the legendary terroir of Les Malgagnes. He developed the vineyard, choosing to expand over the years through choices that reflect the respect inherent to his wine-making methods and vinification.
