The wine
These wines offer delightful complexity and finesse, and an excellent capacity to age. This wine is produced on clay-limestone and gravelly terroirs. It is vinified using traditional techniques and then matured in barrels, about a third of which are renewed each year. The resulting wine is very aromatic and well-structured.
About the Producer Château Biston Brillette
The origins of Château Biston-Brillette date back to the early 19th century, when Monsieur Biston, who owned several hectares of vines in Moulis, decided to personalize his production by combining his name with that of the local area. The property, which grew to have up to 30 hectares of vines in the 1860s, was ravaged by phylloxera a few years later, and subsequently changed owners several times, until 1930 when, as a result of an inheritance, the vineyard was sold separately from the other land belonging to the château. Monsieur Lagarde purchased 5 hectares, which at that time was all that was in production. Since 1963 the vineyard has been owned by his successor, Michel Barbarin.
