The wine
This Villages wine is élevaged in stainless steel tanks on fine lees. It develops refined, gourmet aromas of peach, white fruit and acacia. On the palate, the attack is direct, before giving way to a beautiful rounded fruitiness and a very mineral finish. This wine is great as an aperitif, or with seafood.
About the Producer Nicolas Maillet
In 1999, Nicolas Maillet took over the family domaine (which had existed for four generations) following his father who then brought his grapes to the local cooperative. It has doubled its surface area to 7 hectares, 5.4ha of which are Chardonnay on the slopes of the small village of Verzé in Saône-et-Loire, in the heart of the Mâconnais. The vineyard has been certified as organic since 2011. Vinification is essentially done in vats with minimum intervention.
