Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru Arnoux-Lachaux (Domaine) 2011
The wine
This wine is one of Burgundy’s legends. Just a few metres from Romanée-Conti, this plot is raised organically in order to protect its richness. In the winery, the grapes are put into vats without being crushed and undergo a cold pre-fermentation phase for 3 days. During the classic alcoholic fermentation, very few interventions are made, and these vary depending on the temperature. The barrelling process is left to gravity, and 30% of these are new wood. The wine has a splendid aromatic bouquet that lines the palate with fruity, floral and eventually spicy notes. A true marvel to be aged for 12-15 years in your cellar.
About the Producer Arnoux-Lachaux
Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux was founded in 1858 and has been run by five successive generations. Currently, Florence and Pascal Lachaux are at the helm (since 1995) of the operation. The vineyards cover just under 15 hectares and appellations: Vosne-Romanée, Clos-de-Vougeot, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny, Echezaux, and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. The vines are maintained with grass cover, the yields have been mastered and thus, the quality of the wines has been further increased. A Côte des Nuits domaine which is not to be missed.
