Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Ramonet (Domaine) 1988
The wine
Alongside Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet and Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet is one of the five fine white Grand Crus from the Côte de Beaune, shared among the villages of Puligny and Chassagne. This quintet argue among themselves for the title of ‘world’s best dry white wine’. Long has it been that these wines attain the rarely matched heights of richness, aromatic complexity and length.
About the Producer Ramonet
Jean-Claude and Noël safeguard the 17-hectare property created bit by bit by their grandfather Pierre Ramonet in the 1920s, a Burgundian figure. Noël (in the cellar) and Jean-Claude (in the vineyard) took over the domain in 1984. They are the third generation and want to get the best out of the terroir. It is one of the most renowned domain of the appellation for both quality and finesse of its wines.
