This exceptional wine is only produced in certain vintages, when the grapes are particularly complex!

More info

This outstanding wine is produced only in exceptional years when the grapes are deemed to be particularly highly concentrated and complex. This is when the estate chooses to craft this Aszú 6 Puttonyos. The number of Puttonyos refers to the residual sugar content in the wine. Here, the 6 indicates that this is a sweet wine best appreciated in its youth for its fruitiness, richness and concentration, and especially after 15 to 30 years of cellaring.
The botrytised grapes, known as ‘aszú’ grapes (Hungarian for ‘dried’), are meticulously hand-picked one by one from the vines in successive rounds, so that only the most concentrated grapes are selected for this particular cuvée. After being stored separately, these grapes affected by noble rot are added to a dry wine crafted earlier in the season, triggering a further fermentation process.
This is the perfect bottle to open for celebrations or special occasions. While it certainly stands on its own, you can also enjoy it with a wide range of dishes. In the glass, you’ll discover a delightful amber colour, a fine, precise nose bursting with notes of fruit and honey. Simply let the elegance and opulence of this sweet wine capture your senses while its freshness shines without ever being overshadowed. It will also reveal hints of menthol with age.

About the Producer Disznoko

Disznoko is the biggest Tokaj domain, with a vineyard spanning 100 hectares in north-west Hungary, on the Slovakian border. It's also one of the highest-reputed. Axa Millésimes purchased it in 1993 and totally restored it. A new winery was built in 1995, decked out with the latest tech innovations. Laszlo Meszaos, an agriculturalist who trained in Perpan then in Hungary, before arriving at Disznoko in 1995. He has been managing the domain since 2000. Six white grape varieties are grown in Tokaj: Fürmint, Zeta, Harslevelu, Muscat Jaune, Köverszölö and Kabar. La Revue du vin de France confirmed that Axa Millésimes' purchase of the domain ‘provoked a little revolution in shaking up the original style of the Tokaji Aszù. Does this mean they betrayed the unique identity of the Disznoko terroir? Far from it. With great purity, and marked by a magnificent acidity , the wines are very elegant and age admirably well'.
