Intensity
An outstanding wine to explore the Australian terroir, with complex, delicately smoky flavours. These include vanilla and ripe black fruits such as cherry and blackcurrant.
More infoA premium, Australian wine, Les Amis is a cuvée with an unusual profile, sparking both curiosity and longing among enthusiasts keen to discover wines from faraway lands. Dave Powell, at the helm of the Torbreck estate, chose Grenache to develop this cuvée, whose prestige has been confirmed from one vintage to the next by countless critics around the world. A fitting choice, since this is an inescapable grape variety in the Barossa Valley, perfectly adapted to this type of climate and ancient crumbly soils rich in clay.
After being harvested, the grape must ferments in concrete vats for seven days and is then aged for a long period of 22 months in entirely new French oak casks. A premium quality dry red wine with an intense dark red colour, the complexity of the bouquet overwhelms the senses in a positive way. Empyreumatic and floral aromas play off each other, with a beautiful evolution of black fruit and subtle earthy notes. The palate is robust yet voluptuous, and the tannins are balanced by a gentle acidity, a breath of freshness that carries a lingering finish.

About the Producer Torbreck
Founded in 1995 by Dave Powell, Torbreck in now one of the emblematic domains of Barossa Valley. The founder, a Rhone enthusiast, took inspiration from this region by planting a majority of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne, with a little Sémillon. In order to preserve the grapes, the harvest is brought to the vats by gravity, and the yields are limited, favouring quality. Appreciated for their richness and the excellent craftsmanship that goes into the wines, Torbreck is one of the leading producers of its region.
