Intensity
The Syrah and Grenache varieties, which are produced in minuscule yields, are expressed in an intense, highly complex register.
More infoGrown in a limestone-clay soil, the Syrah and Grenache grapes which comprise this cuvée offer minuscule yields (between 10 and 20 hl/ha), and are matured in oak vats for between 24 and 30 months. On tasting, this wine reveals an intense colour which foreshadows an equally intense aromatic bouquet consisting of notes of tobacco, mocha, cocoa, black berries and scrubland. The palate is structured by attractive tannins which will open out fully only after several years' keeping.

About the Producer Héritage du Pic Saint-Loup (anciennement Ermitage)
The Ravaille family (Jean-Marc, Pierre and Xavier Ravaille) have established themselves as some of the leading lights in the Pic Saint-Loup. Its domain nestles alongside the mountain region's first foothills. At L'Ermitage, the grower's profession is a permanent quest for perfection. The domain has been using biodynamic approaches for a number of years, and is currently working towards organic certification. Vinification is performed separately for each terroir and grape type. Their personality is then allowed to develop for one to two years in tanks or barrels.
