A fine wine, elegant with delicious brioche flavours. A wonderful example from the cold and red terroir of Savigny-lès-Beaune.
More infoDomaine Génot Boulanger has 22 hectares of vines that are spread throughout the Burgundy wine region and are beautiful and bountiful. The wines produced there are beautifully structured and well balanced.
This Savigny-lès-Beaune, made from old vines, is created by blending grapes from three plots of land. One is at the bottom of the slope (Les Saucours), the other is in the middle of the slope (Les Gollardes) and the final one is at the top of the slope (Les Goudelettes). This blend produces a typical and ideal Savigny-lès-Beaune marked by a certain delicacy as well as a fine bitter and mineral tension.
To create this cuvée, the estate aged the wine for 12 months in barrels before spending six months in vats; a step that allows the wine to gain tension and balance. Tasting the wine reveals a pure Chardonnay that oozes notes of lemon, brioche and other citrus fruits. With wonderful delicacy and minerality, it pairs beautifully with delicious dishes such as a carrot gratin.

About the Producer Génot-Boulanger
When you walk through the village of Meursault, you absolutely must stop off at the magnificent Château de Cîteaux. It is here Aude and Guillaume Lavollée tend to their vines before their grapes are vinified in their winery located at the bottom of the village. Charles-Henri Génot and his wife Marie (née Boulanger) arrived in Meursault in 1974 and acquired their first vines. After that, plots in Côte Chalonnaise, then the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits gradually completed their range, which today comprises 22 hectares of vines in 30 appellations. Among the most beautiful are Clos de Vougeot, Corton-Charlemagne, Meursault Premier Cru Les Bouchères and Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Folatières.
In 2008, Aude and Guillaume Lavollée continued the family adventure. They have been working hard and the domain was certified organic in 2018. Nicolas Ludwig, the domain’s oenologist, creates excellent quality wines that are complex and fine.
