This climat, which enjoys afternoon shade, offers a delicate cuvée with a fragrant bouquet of white flowers and undergrowth. Given time in the cellar, it will continue to evolve beautifully.
More infoThe Moreau family owns over fifty hectares across the Chablis region, from Petit Chablis to grand cru sites, including a small 10-are plot in Blanchot. This climat, located at the southern tip of the grand cru vineyard, stretches across steep slopes with Kimmeridgian limestone soils. The Chardonnay vines, planted in 1986, benefit from southeast exposure, catching the morning sun and being shaded in the afternoon, resulting in wines of great finesse. The grand cru parcels are always the first to be harvested by hand, with the grapes gently pressed as soon as they reach the winery. The juice ferments in 500-litre oak barrels for 15 to 28 days at low temperatures, using native yeasts, with natural malolactic fermentation following triggered by bacteria. The wine is then aged for 18 months in the same barrels before bottling. The result is a refined wine with an alluring bouquet of white flowers and undergrowth. It is full-bodied, soft and full on the palate, yet taut with a fine acidity. This is a wine with great ageing potential that will reward your patience.

About the Producer Louis Moreau
The Moreau family was founded in Chablis in the early 20th century: the first parcels were bought in 1904 (Clos des Hospices). It now spans 65 hectares, covering several different appellations in Chablis. The domain also owns several grands crus, including one monopole. Since 1994, Louis Moreau, who represents the 6th generation, is at the helm of this family domain. The wines offer good value for money.
