About the Producer Château de Pez
The Rouzaud family (Louis Roederer champagnes and Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in Pauillac) purchased this continuous holding of 20 hectares of Cru Bourgeois Saint-Estèphe. Already classified as exceptional Cru Bourgeois status in 2003, the wines have continued to progress thanks to work undertaken in the vineyard and in the cellar. Merlot has given way to Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a consequence of climate warming which allows very fine cabernets to be achieved, which previously did not ripen properly. Prices have remained very sensible, which guarantees good value for a Bordeaux vineyard.
