An unmissable wine for iDealwine, and unquestionably one of the Médoc's best-value wines.

More info

The property's 10 hectares of vines are planted on a remarkable terroir, which, located between the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic Ocean, benefits from a microclimate with very stable temperatures. The choice of grape varieties is slightly unusual with, in addition to the traditional Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) and Merlot (30%) there is 20% Petit Verdot, a much larger proportion than is found in most vineyards, but which gives the wines an elegant acidity. There is also a hint of Carmenère, an old Bordeaux variety, which subtly enriches the aromatic palate with a mild spiciness.

About the Producer Château Belle-Vue

Château Belle-Vue has been known for its wines since the end of the 19th century, which, until 1995 were incorporated into Château Gironville's production. This was due to the owner at that time, Rémy Fouin, who renovated the winery and re-established Belle-Vue as a completely separate wine. Vincent Mulliez became the owner in 2004, and has continued with the same enthusiasm as his predecessor, who remains an adviser. Unfortunately Vincent Mulliez died suddenly in 2010, but his family and their team have successfully continued the work that he began. Very attached to traditional methods, this ambitious team has nonetheless not hesitated to adopt the latest technology.
