This wine is described by Laurent Lusseau, the manager of Perse's properties, as a genuine experiment: a test of how far these vines, with an average age of 45 years, can go. Yields are intentionally very low (15hl/hl). The wine is aged in new oak barrels for 24 months. The final blend takes place just before bottling, which is carried out without fining or filtration. On tasting, the wine is fairly dense and concentrated. Nearly black, the bouquet is characterized by fruit, in a very concentrated style.

About the Producer Château Bellevue Mondotte

Gérard Perse, the owner of Châteaux Pavie, Monbusquet and Pavie-Decesse acquired this terroir in 2001 and has once again been the driving force behind the creation of an innovative, elitist wine that is regularly awarded high scores by Robert Parker. This wine is the result of meticulous work on a plot in the Libourne region, in Saint Emilion. The microscopic production is made from an enclosed two and a half hectare plot that belongs to Château Pavie-Decesse.
