The wine
Le Clos de Gamot is characterised by pure, fruit aromas as well as floral notes. A fine and elegant palate showcases a rare balance. This single varietal Malbec was vinified in small vats in order to retain the distinctiveness of each terroir. They are then gently blended together, creating wines with an opulent, harmonious structure and excellent potential for aging.
About the Producer Clos de Gamot
Le Clos de Gamot, located in Prayssac within the Cahors vineyards, is owned by the Jouffreau family, who have been based in the region since the 13th century. Some of the domain's vines are at least 120 years old – they were planted after the phylloxera outbreak of 1885 -, producing very low yields of 10-15 hl per hectare. This domain produces harmonious wines that are typical of this region. The hundred-year-old vines yield extremely rich, concentrated Malbec and benefit from a terroir of pebbles and flint.
