Amarone della Valpolicella DOC Bertani 1964
The wine
Nestling in one of the most prestigious areas of Valpolicella, on the Tenuta Novare terroirs, the Corvina Veronese and Rondinella vines thrive on limestone and basalt soils. The vines, averaging around twenty years of age, are harvested by hand at peak ripeness. The grapes are dried on racks for around four months before being vinified. Following this period, the grapes are vinified according to traditional methods before being aged in oak barrels for six years.
The intense red colour reveals a delicate nose exuding expressive aromas of red fruit mingling with dried fruit and tea. The expressive palate seduces with its perfect balance of complexity, purity and finesse. The tannins melt into a velvety, slightly acidulous texture characterised by scents of red berries and vanilla.
