One of the Côte Brune’s shining stars, highly coveted by the finest professional tasters
More infoFruit of vinifying old vines, this cuvée is one of the Côte Brune’s jewels. In order to create this wine, so highly coveted by the finest professional tasters, the domain carried out a sustainable growth of the Syrah grapes, harvesting by hand, total or partial destemming, fermentation in vats, as well as an élevage in Burgundian barrels and demi-muids. The small proportion of new wood used allows for the production of flavourful, elegant, complex wines that are marked by notes of gentle spices as well as red and dark fruits.

About the Producer René Rostaing
In addition to his own domain in Ampuis in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie, René Rostaing, took over his father-in-law Albert Derviux’s property which was one of the largest in the region. These very high-quality vineyards include 7 hectares in the Côte-Rôtie (with 2 hectares in Landonne), just over one hectare in the Côte Blonde and a plot just next to La Turque de Guigal in the Côte Brune. The estate produces three single parcel cuvées which are matured for 24 months in barrels that have been used for several wines. René Rostaing also owns vineyard plots in Condrieu and the Coteaux du Languedoc. He practises sustainable viticulture and has made a name for himself as a very talented winegrower whose wines are highly sought-after all over the world.
